PE Discipline (and the PE Discipline Requirements under it) is a record of a student's enrollment to a Program Discipline (i.e. Major/Minor).
They highlight the Courses (and groups) under that Major, as well as the completion and credits earned.
Creation of PE Discipline and PE Discipline Requirement
The cloned Program Discipline is created as a PE Discipline record, and it has a reference to the Program Discipline (lookup).
The Discipline Requirements are created as child PE Discipline Requirements records, looking up to the newly created PE Discipline.
As of v3.10, the RIO Ed - My Majors (Aura) component has been added to the PE Discipline tab, under the Program Enrollment page in the console view. This allows internal users to select and enroll to Majors/Minors on a student's behalf.
Note: The component in the console is connected to the one in the Student Community page (admins can select Program Disciplines through the record page component, and students can unselect them in the Community and vice versa).
Internal users can also view the details and progress of a student's Major using the 'Overview' function of this RIO Ed - My Majors (Aura) component. This can be useful for internal users when reviewing or advising a student's progress.
The PE Discipline component will only show limited details such as:
- PE Discipline Requirement (Group).
- Credit Hours Required.
- Credit Hours Earned.
- Courses enrolled under the PE Discipline Requirement (Group).
Creating report of PE Discipline Requirements (Course)
What the component does not show is the list of the PE Discipline Requirement (Course) under each PE Discipline Requirements (Group). Some users need this in order to advise the students on "what's next to be enrolled?"
To do this, we can always setup a report that pulls all the PE Discipline Requirements of that student under that particular Program Enrollment.
Then, introduce a custom button at the Program Enrollment object. This button should filter the report via URL parameters so when clicked, it should redirect user to said report and also pass on the report filter parameter i.e. Program Enrollment Id to the report.

Note: There are icons in the enrollment wizard for mandatory and optional Discipline Requirement Courses: a square icon for Mandatory and a Circle icon for Optional. This is to help the student pick what they should be enrolling in if they have a Program Discipline selected.

Status of this PE Discipline. Picklist options:
|Credits||The amount of credits attributed to this PE Discipline.|
Rollup summary field to sum up all the credits earned from the related PE Discipline Requirement Group) records.
This allows tracking the credits obtained by students for a PE Discipline.
|Completion Date||Date that the student has completed this PE Discipline.|
|Released||Checkbox. This marks the PE Discipline results as released to students.|
|Release Date||Date of releasing this PE Discipline results.|
Discipline Requirement (Group) is used to group Courses together for a Program Discipline.
Discipline Requirement (Course) is a junction object between the Program Discipline and Plan Requirement objects, used to represent a Course (unit of study or subject) that is needed to complete a particular Program Discipline group.
