This article outlines the standard integrations which RIO Connect covers when RIO Education, a Student Management System, is connected with Campus Ivy, a Financial Aid Management System.

RIO Connect high level flow

The following is the high level flow of RIO Connect: Campus Ivy for RIO Education.

Student sync to Campus Ivy

This is a Term-based process. Each Term‍, the updated status for students needs to be sent to Campus Ivy through the packaging API. This data will hold the current status of the student, including the number of Courses enrolled, standing, etc.

Funding Aid Application Progression sync to RIO Education

Students will apply for financial AID, fill in all the required information, and upload the required documents.  

There is an integration flow that will help bring the application status back into RIO. We will run this nightly on a schedule and get any records that have been updated since the last date/time we ran the integration.

Student Award sync to RIO Education

The Student Award API call provides all award information. This is first created at the beginning of the student's life cycle. The awards include disbursements and each disbursement has transactions. When the awards are created, they are in a projected or pending status. These are pending funds that the student will receive. These are triggered anytime they are created or changes are made to the award. Typically they are stored in a table at the student level.

 When Campus Ivy has calculated the disbursement amounts, we will bring that back into RIO.
