A University Department is an Account with a record type of University Department. This is the 2nd level account under EDA's recommended hierarchy.

A University Department can be linked to an Educational Institution Account via “Parent Account” field.
For Courses available in an Educational Institution, it is recommended to park them under a University Department Account.
Grade Settings and Courses can be set up under the University Department account.
Important fields

| Account Record Type | The type of account (which is University Department). |
| Parent Account | The parent to this account (which is the Education Institution account). |
