Credit transfer between institutions (supported and non-supported Courses)
Description
I have previously completed some Courses at an institution. How will credit transfer work if some of the Courses I completed are not available in this different institution?
Resolution
Here are a few use cases of credit transfers. Let's assume that RIO Institution has "Foreign Language" in one of their degrees:
Foreign Language (6 credit hours):
- Japanese (3 credit hours).
- Spanish (3 credit hours).
- Portuguese (3 credit hours).
- Korean (3 credit hours).
Use case #1: Credit transfer for Courses that the institution supports
Sarah has done the Japanese Course from another institution.
RIO Institution recognizes this, creates a credit transfer, and links that to it's own Japanese Course.

Use case #2: Credit transfer for Courses that the institution does not support
Sarah has done the Chinese - Mandarin Course from another institution.
Even though RIO Institution has no Chinese - Mandarin Course, it recognizes this and Sarah has a credit transfer of 3 credit hours under the "Foreign Language" requirement.
She just needs to do another 3 more credit hours by selecting one of the Courses offered in the same requirement.
