A university department is an account with record type = University Department. This is the 2nd level account under the EDA recommended hierarchy.

A university department can be linked to an Educational Institution Account via “Parent Account” field.
For Courses available in an educational institution, it is recommended to park them under a University Department Account.
Grade Settings and Courses can be set up under the University Department account.
Important fields

| Account Name | Name of this University Department, e.g. School of Business. |
| Account Record Type | The type of account (which is University Department). |
| Parent Account | The parent to this account (which is the Education Institution account). |
