RIO Challenge v4 - C04.08 Enrollment Rules

Study Session Enrollment Rules sets the number of Study Session students can enroll into based on the different session types within a Study Offering.

In this challenge, you will configure the Study Session Enrollment Rules for a Study Offering that a student has already enrolled in.

Steps to complete the challenge

Fred Smith has enrolled into the Study Unit, AC104 – Advanced Composition Studies. Now, he must also complete enrollment into the available Study Sessions.

As the Admission Officer, you will configure the Study Session Enrollment Rules to manage how Fred enrolls into these sessions.

1. Click on the ‘RIO Challenge v4’ tab at the bottom left of the page. Click on ‘Initiate Challenge’ to generate the data required for this challenge.
   
   
    
2. From the App Launcher, search for ‘Study Offerings’.
   
   
   Select the list view ‘C04.08 - Enrollment Rules’. Click to open the record ‘C04.08 - Current Term - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies’.
   
   
    
3. Navigate to the Enrollment Rules tab.
   
   Click on the ‘+’ icon and create 3 Study Session Enrollment Rules with the information below:

Click ‘Save’ once you're done.

All students who enroll into this Study Offering will have to adhere to these session enrollment rules.
 

4. Go to the 'Contacts' tab, and select the list view 'C04.08 - Enrollment Rules' to find the record created for this challenge.
   
   
   Select Fred Smith's record.
   
    
5. Navigate to the ‘Enrollments’ tab.
   
   Select the Individual Enrollment for ‘C04.08 - Current Term - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies’.
   
    
6. Observe the ‘Study Session Enrollment Rules Result’ and ‘Study Session Enrollment Rules Status’ fields.
   
   Also notice that there are no Individual Session Enrollments yet.
   
    
7. Navigate to Fred Smith's Individual Program Enrollment record.
   Select the ‘Session Enrollment’ tab.
   
    
8. Remember the Study Session Enrollment Rules we set earlier.
   
   Each student who enrolled into AC104 will need to enroll into one Lecture class, one Tutorial class, and one Exam session.
   
   Let's enroll into the Lecture class first.
   
   
    
9. Return to the Individual Enrollment record and observe the fields mentioned in Step 6 again.
   
   Notice that ‘Study Session Enrollment Rules Status’ shows ‘Insufficient’.
   
    
10. Return to Fred Smith's Individual Program Enrollment record and enroll into the 2 remaining Study Sessions.
    
    Then, observe the Individual Enrollment record again.
    
     
11. The ‘Study Session Enrollment Rules Status’ field should show ‘Sufficient’ now.
    
    This indicated that Fred Smith has completed his session enrollment for AC104 and does not need further action.
    
     
12. Congratulations, you have completed the challenge!
    
    Click on the ‘RIO Challenge v4’ tab at the bottom left of the page, and click on ‘Complete Challenge’.
