Prerequisites
The following are the prerequisites to enable RIO Connect to connect with TCSI:
-
Ensure that the RIO Education is installed successfully in the Salesforce Org. Please contact the RIO Education or consultant team if you require more information/assistance on RIO Education.
- Ensure that the latest RIO Education Reporting (AU) is installed successfully in the Salesforce Org.
- As the provider (i.e. the school/organisation), it is recommended to initiate a request with the TCSI support team for a PRODA Sandbox instance. If the TCSI support team redirected you to the "TCSI - Testing for providers" page instead, give it a go by following the steps as outlined under the "Setting up a test account" section.
It usually would require one to two weeks time before the TCSI support team provisions the PRODA Sandbox. The following are some of the information which may be required by the TCSI team:- Organisation Contact Email Address (this can be one of the provider's individual valid email address).
- You will be asked to create/register for an organisation and provide the relevant information (this can be referencing information related to the Provider directly).
- Under the registered organisation, ensure that the correct service provider is added. For example, a HEP type provider should have the "PRODA" and "Tertiary Collection of Student Information" activated at least. If you are unsure, please check with the TCSI support team.
- Organisation Contact Email Address (this can be one of the provider's individual valid email address).
- When PRODA Sandbox is available and an organisation is created:
- Create a new B2B Device under the registered organisation. It would be good if the provider can prepare at least a couple of B2B Devices for testing purposes. Provide the full name of the B2B Devices created (with character case sensitive).
- Each B2B Device will have its verification code generated when they are first created. Please ensure this is taken note of and shared with the RIO Connect team for set up purposes.
- Have the registered Organisation Name and Organisation Id ready too (this will be the PRODA RA (Organisation) value).
- Please also confirm the provider type (HEP, TAC, or VET) which represents the provider.
- Create a new B2B Device under the registered organisation. It would be good if the provider can prepare at least a couple of B2B Devices for testing purposes. Provide the full name of the B2B Devices created (with character case sensitive).
Things you can do before further enabling RIO Connect
Here are the installation/configuration steps that you can perform before further enabling the RIO Connect:
- Note that there are additional fields being used by RIO Connect during the TCSI integration which are sourced from the RIO Education Reporting (AU) package. In this case, they may not be available in any page layout by default.
- You can however expose these additional fields into the layout based on your liking. Refer to the general test cases and fields mapping here, to understand the Salesforce objects and fields that are covered by the RIO Connect TCSI package. This will allow you to expose the specific fields on the specific object's page layout.
- Exposing the fields as mentioned in #2 would allow the Salesforce user who will be reviewing and preparing the data for TCSI reporting to manage the information accordingly before qualifying for the specific record to be ready to sync into TCSI.
All set
When all is set, reach out to the RIO Education account manager or the support team to request for further enabling RIO Connect for your account. We may provide you a secure form so that you can share the credentials as well as the PRODA information captured/mentioned during the prerequisites stage.
When RIO Connect is activated and the integrations are scheduled based on the recommended schedule as outlined in the fields mapping document, feel free to download a copy of the general test cases which you can then start testing based on the cases listed.
