Course
Courses are the unit or subjects for a student to enroll and study. Several Courses can become part of a Program, and Courses can have several Course Offerings. Each Course will have to be linked to its correct respective University Departments.
RIO University will have several Courses tied to its 2 University Departments, which are the School of Business, and the School of Information System. Each Course will be given its respective Course ID, Credit Hours, and Credit Points. The Courses may also have their Fees and Grade Settings pre-defined.
Below is an example of the data being filled in the data template. Any data that you have should also be filled according to this example.
Keep in mind that this tab has to contain all the Courses of an Educational Institution. So, if there are several Schools within the Institution, all the School's Courses must be filled in this tab.
Column | Description |
Course Name | Specified name of the Course. |
University Department Ext ID | Which department the Course will be linked to. |
Course ID | Unique identifier for the Course. |
Credit Hour | Credit Hours required to complete the Course. |
Description | Description of the Course. |
Credit Point | Number of credits that a student can earn after completing a Course. |
Use Default Fee |
[ TRUE / FALSE] To indicate that a Course Offering should use the fee defined in the related Course. |
Fee Ext ID | Lookup to Fee tab. Determines the fee to be charged for a Course. |
Online Course Duration | Meant for Courses with online delivery only. Default number of days for an online offering duration. |
Online Census Duration | Meant for Courses with online delivery only. Number of days after starting date that an Enrollment is finalised. |
Grading Frequency |
[ Term / Weekly ] Determines how often a Course will be graded. |
Grade Type |
[ Value / Score ] Determines if Grades are populated with Grade Setting values or manually populated with a number. |
Grade Setting Types |
Has 3 Grade Setting type to choose from:

Grading Academic Program | Will use the Grade Settings of the chosen Academic Program if Grade Setting Types = Academic Program. |
