Description

Scenario 1:

How do I make a Course Offering open for enrollment on a different date, instead of following the Term (semester)?

or

How do I make a Session open for enrollment on a different date, instead of following the Course Offering?

Scenario 2:

How do I make a Course Offering or Session open only for one batch or cohort of students to enroll at a time?

For example, I want this Course to be open for enrollment only for senior students at first, before juniors and freshman can enroll (later).

Resolution

Scenario 1:

The structure for a Term (semester), Course Offering, and Session are as follows:

  • Term.
    • Course Offering.
      • Session.

This means that you can define a different enrollment open date for Course Offerings and Sessions, without having to follow the date set at the parent record above it.

For more information and use case examples, see: Enrollment Open Date‍.

Scenario 2:

Cohort Enrollment allows you to open enrollment for a Course Offering or Session at different times for different batches of students (i.e. senior, freshman).

For more information and use case examples, see: Cohort Enrollment‍.
