Steps to complete the challenge
RIO University offers a whole array of courses, including a course in ‘Advanced Composition Studies’.
This is a 2-credit course, and is offered every semester.
As the program administrator, you will need to create a Study Unit to represent this course, and then create Study Offerings for it every semester.
- Click on the 'RIO Challenge V4' tab at the bottom left of the page. Click on 'Initiate Challenge' to generate the data required for this challenge.

 - Go to the ‘Accounts’ tab and select the list view ‘C01.03 - Study Unit and Study Offering Setup’.

Click to open the ‘C01.03 - RIO University’ record.
 - Study Units (courses) are created under the Educational Institution.
Navigate to the ‘Study Programs’ tab and scroll down to find the list of Study Units. This is where all the Study Units (courses) offered by RIO University are created.
Create a new Study Unit record with the following details:
| Study Unit Name | C01.03 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies |
| Unit Code | AC104 |
| Credits | 2 |
- The Study Unit ‘AC104’ has been created.
Recall earlier that this Study Unit is offered every semester.
This means that it is offered for students to enroll in each Term.
Therefore, we need to create Study Offerings for this AC104.
Click ‘View All’ to expand the list of Study Units, and find the record you have just created for AC104.
You may use the filter function to easily find AC104.
Then, once inside the Study Unit ‘AC104’, navigate to the ‘Offerings’ tab, and create a new Study Offering for the current Term and future Term.

| Study Offering Name | C01.03 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies - Current Term |
| Study Unit | C01.03 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies |
| Academic Term | C01.03 - Current Term |
| Campus | C01.03 - Sydney Campus |
| Number of Credits | 2 |
| Enable Self Enrollment | TRUE |
| Capacity | 40 |
| Study Offering Name | C01.03 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies - Future Term 1 |
| Study Unit | C01.03 - AC104 - Advanced Composition Studies |
| Academic Term | C01.03 - Future Term 1 |
| Campus | C01.03 - Sydney Campus |
| Number of Credits | 2 |
| Enable Self Enrollment | TRUE |
| Capacity | 40 |
This means that the Study Unit ‘AC104’ is offered to students in the current and future Term, and will be held at the Sydney Campus.
Note:
The ‘Enable Self Enrollment’ checkbox will determine whether students can select and enroll Study Offerings by their own.
This allows institutions to either:
- allow students to select Study Offerings on their own (Enable Self Enrollment = TRUE),
or,
- prevent students from doing so (Enable Self Enrollment = FALSE), and instead, let the admin manage the enrollments on students' behalf.
- Let's take a look at the Study Offering record you have just created for the current Term.

Scroll down to the “Study Offering Date/Time” section and review its fields.
Notice that the ‘Start Date (Calculated)’ and the ‘End Date (Calculated)’ fields are automatically populated.
These are inherited from the start and end dates of the Term that is linked with this Study Offering (which is the ‘C01.03 - Current Term’ record).
Also take notice of the ‘Status’ and ‘Enrollment Open Date’ fields, which are also automatically populated.
These are also inherited from the Term that is linked with this record.
In this case, since today falls within the ‘C01.03 - Current Term’, enrollment is still open.- Note: You can set an ‘Enrollment Close Date’ on the Study Term, so that students will no longer be able to enroll after that date.

 - Note: You can set an ‘Enrollment Close Date’ on the Study Term, so that students will no longer be able to enroll after that date.
 - Review the Study Offering that you have just created for the upcoming Term.

Scroll down to the “Study Offering Date/Time” section and review its fields.
The ‘Start Date’ and ‘Enrollment Open Date (Calculated)’ fields are inherited from the ‘C01.03 - Future Term 1’, which is linked to this Study Offering.
However, these dates are still in the future.
The ‘Status’ field will display ‘Not Started’ as well.
This is because this Study Offering is for a future Term that has not started yet.
Thus, students won't be able to enroll in the Study Offering for the Future Term yet.
Instead, the students will be enrolling in the Study Offering for the Current Term.
