Scheduling for Online Classes
Overview
This article highlights the setup for online classes that will have random online meeting links.
In order to understand the concept of setting online classes, it is best to understand Shared Sessions functionality as the solution will utilize this component.
Steps
- Create a Session under one of the Course Offerings where the campus time zone is the time zone to set for the online class.
- If there is a need to identify online Sessions, you may create a virtual selection under the Band picklist.
- If there is a need to identify online Sessions, you may create a virtual selection under the Band picklist.
- Forego the concept of Facility when setting up Session (which will leave the icon in orange).
- No facility scheduling is required.

- Create Shared Session under the Session created and link it to another Unit Course Offering where this online class should be available to.
- This step will allow Sydney online class to be available to Melbourne students who are enrolled to the Unit Course Offering.
There are other use cases for online classes setup briefly mentioned below:
- Shared online meeting URL (room).
- Create 1 virtual meeting room per URL.
- Manage it like a physical classroom.
- Each faculty has their own unique URL.
- Ignore facility management.
